Hamilton v. Jefferson ES The Race for the National Election

Unit: Civic Education Skills, The Political Process, Mock Election
In preparation for the 2025 National Election elementary students will examine the political conflicts that marked the early history of our nation. This lesson plan briefly introduces students to Washington’s first cabinet members and examines the possible causes for conflict between them. Students will learn about the biographies of Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton and use that information to participate in a mock presidential race between the two. This lesson plan should be used to prepare students for voting in the 2025 YL National Election .
